Our monthly meetings are currently taking place at the:-

On the second Wednesday of each month (except August) at 10.30am.

The Bye-Law
“The President, Secretary and the Treasurer may only serve as that officer for a maximum of three consecutive years.
Any member holding the position of President, Secretary or Treasurer for three consecutive years shall not be eligible to accept nomination for the following year.
In exceptional circumstances, one or more officers may be allowed to extend their term of office for one more year.”
The bye-law is reviewed annually.
The president is elected every year, even if the current president is willing to stand.

Formation
The Wantage WI was formed on 11 November 2009.
At the foundation meeting, under the direction of Sheila West and Liz Eaton (both WI Advisers in the Oxfordshire Federation) the following was agreed.
The name of the WI would be called, simply, “Wantage WI”.
The venue would be the Masonic Hall, Wantage.
Meetings would take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10.30am.
Annual meetings would take place in March when committee members would be voted for.
Five members offered to stand on the Committee.
– Jean Stirrup was voted as President.
– Kathryn Leech as Secretary.
– Carol Doughty as Treasurer.
– Anne Pagett and Beryl Whitehead as Committee members.
