Christmas 2020

Send me photos of you and your Christmas tree, any of the floral table decorations you have made and any pictures you have of your Christmas celebrations, particularly if Covid has rather changed the way they look!

Eileen looking very Christmassy

Jenny was inspired by Christine Ramsey

No theme to Lyn’s tree!  Some of the decorations are about 50 years old, quite a few home-made and others bought over the years.

Mary Lawrence, one of our raffle winners with her prize and her Christmas Tree

Like our speaker yesterday our very own Carol Doughty also dried flowers & seeds during lockdown. She used some in an arrangement for our Flower Clubs Area Lockdown competition. The title was “Fireworks”

As you can see much of the plant material was the same as Christine Ramsey used in her talk on the 6th December.

Anne Paget and her tree both looking lovely

Diane and her tree.. no story.

Flora’s rather lovely and unusual hanging Christmas tree.

Following her husband’s death on Christmas morning 1992, in June 1993 Flora decided to do something special for Christmas 1993 so she went to the Lechlade Christmas shop where they were selling a new line of wall hanging trees, so she bought this lovely tree and also the Crib scene on the table. Every thing else are memory pieces, the candle stick behind decorated by her Grandfather, the two trees beside the Crib were bought in 1966 from Tremblins of Highworth a mobile shop which came to Compton Beauchamp where they lived without a car. The small arrangement is in a baked bean tin on a slate from a dismantled turkey house. The tree is decorated  with things Flora bought in the 70s and bits she knitted .
