For long-distance trips a coach is hired, but for events closer to home we suggest that car-sharing takes place. It is suggested that when drivers take passengers to events, a contribution towards the cost of fuel is made. We suggest an amount based on the following. The total number of miles for the round trip, multiplied by 35p to establish the cost, then divide the amount by the number of cars being used. This is a suggestion only, but it is an attempt to be fair and establish a consistent approach to the sharing of costs.
