Recycling

Wantage WI are very proud of their recycling activities. If you want to collect any of these then contact Diane Monnery who will take them off your hands.

Crazy Recycling Lady

Liz our crazy recycling lady having filled at least 200 or so eco brick (bottles) which are sadly not collected by the Co-op anymore. So she has found other ways for us to re-cycle. Looking at the ‘ad’ below, she has set herself up as a mini ‘hub’ for these products so if you would like to bring them to the next meeting she will take them to the nearest main hub. The other things she will take are medicine blister packs (empty of course and any brand). She will also take cat and dog food pouches – most of which you cannot recycle. So wash them out thoroughly, pop them in a bag and bring them to the meeting. Liz has 2 cats and 5 pouches a day so a lot that would normally go into the black waste bin. This also includes the large plastic biscuit/kibble bags.

I do hope you will join us in doing our bit for the planet.

Stamps and Ink Cartriges

We collect all used stamps and your empty ink cartridges. These are recycled by Medical Detection Dogs.

Spectacles

Many opticians will take your old spectacles for Vision Aid Overseas  but Diane will be more than happy to recycle them for you.

Plastic Bottle Top

We recycle plastic bottle tops via Lush. Local councils won’t recycle your plastic bottle tops even though they are collecting the plastic bottles  but the lids are also recyclable! Handmade cosmetic company Lush will recycle our plastic bottle tops. They use them in many community projects.
