Blenheim Palace Christmas Lights

34 ladies and 12 men visited Blenheim Palace to see Alice in the Palace and walk the trail. Both were amazing. The attention to detail in the Palace was just outstanding and of course we got to meet ‘Alice’. The weather was great, just cold and very muddy underfoot. Where will we go next year for our 5th Christmas light show!!

Waitress ~ October 2019

15 ladies and 1 man went to Waitress the Musical in London. Train journey then lunch at St. Martin’s crypt (always a good place to eat) and then on to the Theatre. Waitress was funny, poignant, sad and completely enjoyable. Joe Suggs played his usual quirky self – really enjoyed by all.

Waddesdon Garden Tour ~ October 2019

We had an amazing tour at Eythrope – belonging to the Waddesdon Estate. A very informative guide showing us a beautiful garden – all divided up into sections – vegetable, herbs, fruits, flowers and flowers for cutting for the house. We then went to the Restaurant at Waddesdon for a delightful lunch

Felting Workshop ~ October 2019

What a wonderful day, well except for the weather. Super day everyone enjoyed it so much. What a fabulous home garden and property. Greeted by alpacas and Jane, who made delicious scones for us fresh that morning. She is such a talented lady as well as fun and so friendly

Poppy Tour ~ October 2019

26 of us went to Richmond to the Poppy Factory. 32 million poppies and 80 thousand wreaths are made each year. Founded in 1922 to offer employment opportunities to wounded soldiers returning from the war. They are still finding jobs for veterans and men and women down on their luck in life. We had a tour and a film show both were so interesting. We all made our own
poppies. We also stopped at Squires Garden Centre in Richmond for lunch which was most enjoyable.

Annual Sporting Challenge Against The Hendreds WI September 2019

For the last few years we have had an annual sporting challenge with the Hendreds WI and this year was no exception. Wantage headed out to East Hendred armed with their Boules! A great time was had by all and overall it was a draw! Fabulous afternoon tea provided by ladies of Hendred WI.

This years garden party had to be moved to be moved to the Masonic Hall due to the inclement weather. However our ladies were not deterred from dressing up in order to celebrate 100 years of Oxfordshire Federation of Women’s Institute! Don’t we look fabulous!!!
